The FAO Internship Programme gives students and recent graduates practical experience related to food, agriculture, rural development, natural resources, data, policy, communications, technology, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Core eligibility

  • Applicants must be nationals of an FAO member country.
  • Candidates must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate programme, or be recent graduates.
  • Applicants should be aged 21-30 when the internship begins.
  • Working knowledge of at least one FAO official language is required.
  • Applicants must not have a parent or sibling employed by FAO.

Programme details

  • Assignments last between three and eleven months.
  • Interns work in fields related to FAO’s mandate and strategic framework.
